Let me tell you a little story about how I helped game developers partnering with PlayStation to easily collect their voucher codes.

Over the past few years, I have been working on a project with PlayStation to help their game development partners manage their voucher codes more efficiently. For those who don’t know, voucher codes are codes that players can use to unlock content in a game, like new levels or items, or get a free game. These codes can be an important part of a game’s marketing strategy, as they incentivize players to purchase and engage with the game.

However, collecting and managing these voucher codes can be a cumbersome process, especially for game developers who are already juggling multiple tasks. That’s where I came in. I wanted to make it as easy as possible for developers to collect their voucher codes from the PlayStation Partners interface, doing it all with just one click.

To accomplish this, I focused on creating a simplified user interface with as little friction as possible. I partnered with an amazing designer to create a single-click interaction. Then, I worked closely with the development team to move all of the complexity to the service layer and backend. This allowed us to provide the necessary functionality without overwhelming the user with unnecessary details.

The result was a seamless experience for game developers. With just one click, they could easily collect all of their voucher codes and start using them to drive engagement and revenue for their games. And because we were able to simplify the process so much, we also reduced the need for customer support and training resources, saving time and money for both PlayStation and their game development partners. The time to receive their codes went from 2 weeks down to basically instant.

Of course, there were challenges along the way. We had to balance the need for simplicity with the necessary functionality of the platform, and we had to ensure that the service layer and backend were robust enough to handle the complexity. But in the end, it was all worth it to provide game developers with a user-friendly solution for managing their voucher codes.

So, that’s how I helped PlayStation’s game development partners easily collect their voucher codes with just one click. It just goes to show how important it is to focus on creating a simplified user interface with as little friction as possible, while also carefully considering the challenges of moving complexity to the service layer and backend.
